Lanzarote, the island of the volcanoes, has been a popular destination for cyclists of all abilities for many years. Its dry, warm and very predictable climate as well as smooth tarmac roads with low traffic density make for perfect cycling conditions.

For road cycling fans there as many as 17 different routes that range between 40 and 180 km. You can also ride the bike course of the Ironman Lanzarote 70.3 (70km), the Volcano Thriatlon (40km) or Ironman Lanzarote (180km).

If you prefer easy cycling with a more leisurely approach and without traffic, you have the possibility to cycle between 10 and 50 km along the completely flat coastal bike lane  which connects Puerto del Carmen, Arrecife and Costa Teguise.

A trekking tour of several cycling days along secondary roads with little traffic is a great way of getting to know the island.

Mountain bikers will find a vast network of easy dirt roads and secondary roads with little traffic. The terrain is perfect for beginning mountain bikers who want to experience a new adventure combined with one of the most amazing landscapes in Europe.
