PROGRAM
Day 1. Arrival to Calella de Palafrugell
Arrival at Palafrugell on your own. We are going to transfer you from Palafrugell to Calella. We can arrange a private transfer for you.
Day 2. Es Castell Beach
Circular route to Es Castell Beach.
Distance: 15km
Today we are going to cross the Natural Area of Castell-Cap Roig, which houses one of the last unspoilt corners of the Costa Brava, with some small creeks like Cala Estreta. We walk back through a fantastic example of Mediterranean wood.
Day 3. The south coastline
Lineal route, transfer to Begur in the morning
Distance: 12km
This is one of the days when we will see a bigger variety of landscapes. The path penetrates into the Mediterranean forest, crosses small and virgin coves, goes through paths with breath-taking views of the Mediterranean Sea and gets into charming villages like Tamariu, Llafranc to arrive to Calella de Palafrugell.
Day 4. Les Gavarres Natural Park, the corkland
Circular tour to Les Gavarres
Distance: around 20km
Near the beach, this natural Park offers you a fantastic views. Here the most important Catalonian cork oaks and maritime pine forests are located. Vegetation here is that of wet, shady areas near mountain streams, forests are made up of alders, hazels and chestnuts, contrasting with the rest of the predominantly Mediterranean territory. As for unique flora, isoetes, or quillworts, and orchids stand out, the most special of which is the “satirión de tres bulbos”.
Day 5. Medieval villages
Lineal route, transfer to Peretallada in the morning
Distance: 21km (it could be a shorter day starting in Pals - 11km)
Today we are going to discover two of the most well conserved medieval villages in Catalonia. We start in Peretallada, one of the best examples of medieval architecture, with its fortified centre. After a nice walk along its stoned streets, we walk to Pals, has astonishing views from the top of the village.
Day 6. Departure
Depart on your own. We can transfer you at Palafrugell if you need it.
