This itinerary allow you to get an idea of what l'Anoia is, how their people are and how they manage to live. Visiting some museums like the leather museum of Igualada, you will see the local manufacturing and the key significance of this industry for the people of the region. Anoia is also a land of castles. In this route, you will see one of the best-preserved, Tossa de Montbui. It will explain you the strategic position of this castle and why it was built. Another pleasure of this long weekend trip is the local gastronomy. You will taste local food in the most iconic restaurant, getting a good idea of Catalan Cuisine and tasting local products.

Day 1 Arrival and orientation briefingThe arrival to the Can Carol hotel, in Capellades, where you will stay the first night and we will give you the welcome meeting.

Day 2 Capellades & Wind Mill7.0 kmIn the morning, you will do a visit and workshop in the Paper Mill Museum. After the visit, you will start your walking tour around Capellades, discovering a variety of natural points with their own history. The walk is around 7km long and it takes almost two hours to do it with a crawling pace.

Day 3 Vilanova del Camí & Els Esgavellats11.0 kmIn the morning, you will take the train to Vilanova del Camí, the village where you will start the route. After 4.5km of walking, we will reach els Esgavellats, the nicest landscape of the entire trip. It is the highest point where we will see Odena Valley and the small villages belonging. After taking time to relax, you will walk to Igualada. In the evening you take the talk around the center of this city, which is the Anoia’s Capital and will have a local diner at Somiatruites.

Day 4 Hiking to Tossa de Montbui11.0 kmThe last day of hiking you will go to the Tossa de Montbui, a castle nearby to an area called Els Xaragalls, a scraped stone sculptured by the rainwater erosion. The route is approximately 11km and it’s estimated that it takes about 4 hours at a very soft rate. Free time at the afternoon to relax and enjoy your time in l'Anoia.

Day 5 Departure dayLast day to visit Igualada and come back to Barcelona by train.
